Traditional methods of education during the martial law period need a particular correction to optimize the possibilities for ensuring the educational process by the use of innovation approaches to provide a closer connection between a student and a high-school teacher. Interactive learning approaches improve student engagement, learning, motivation, autonomy, curiosity, interaction, attention, and performance. The «case» method, brainstorming, role-playing games, small groups teaching, «conferences» and the preparation of various types of «projects» displayed themselves as the most promising interactive approaches for the learning of the subject at the department of biochemistry of Danylo Halytski Lviv National Medical University. All these approaches are characterized by their possibility of modeling the process of the future professional activity of students to acquire professional skills and abilities in the time of their education. Interactive learning approaches are especially important during online classes.
Thus, the use of innovative approaches to education during the learning of "Biochemistry" has various advantages as compared to traditional methods of high school, because it allows one to find an individual approach to every single student, and reveal his abilities. Under the condition of martial law in Ukraine these methods help to maintain students in a state of psychological resilience.
